IHG Hotels & Resorts expands luxury presence in Madrid

IHG Hotels & Resorts has expanded its Luxury & Lifestyle portfolio in Spain with the signing of the San Bernardo, Vignette Collection in Madrid. Scheduled to open in March 2028, the 67-room hotel will be located in the heart of the Spanish capital on Calle de San Bernardo.

The project involves transforming a partially protected heritage office building into a luxury hospitality destination. The redevelopment aims to preserve the building’s historical architectural character while integrating contemporary design elements, such as a landscaped courtyard, an all-day dining restaurant, a lounge with a bar, and modern fitness facilities.

This addition brings IHG’s total open and pipeline Luxury & Lifestyle properties in Spain to 21. The property is owned by San Bernardo 19 S. L. and will be operated by Hotel Collection International, a major IHG franchisee in the country. The expansion follows recent Vignette Collection additions in Mallorca, Jerez, and Carmona.
