IHG Hotels & Resorts expands luxury presence in Rome and Spain

IHG Hotels & Resorts is expanding its luxury and lifestyle portfolio through new developments in Europe. The company has signed a Kimpton property in Rome, Italy, which is expected to open in 2029. Owned by Castello SGR’s Rome Hotel Development Fund, the 114-room hotel will be located in the Via Veneto area and will feature a rooftop bar, wellness facilities, and a restored theatre repurposed as a multifunctional arts and events venue.

Additionally, IHG’s Hotel Indigo brand has reached a milestone of 200 open hotels worldwide. The brand is focusing on growth in Spain, where it plans to add three new projects to its existing five hotels, bringing its total in the country to eight. This expansion is part of a broader strategy to integrate hotels into their local cultural and historical environments.
