IHS partners with Spires Media for Lagos street soccer tournament

Telecommunications infrastructure provider IHS has entered into a partnership with Spires Media for the Spires 5-Aside Naija Street Soccer Tournament. The collaboration was announced in Lagos in conjunction with the Lagos State Sports Commission (LSSC) ahead of the 2026 state championship scheduled for October.

Victor Ottah, PR Manager for Spires Media, stated that the partnership aims to expand the project beyond football through various community engagement initiatives. IHS, which manages over 16,000 mobile phone towers and sites across Nigeria, is expected to introduce significant innovations to the tournament.

Lekan Fatodu, Director General of the LSSC, described the tournament as the most professionally run 5-aside competition in Nigeria and the West African sub-region. He pledged the commission's support to ensure an enabling environment for the upcoming championship.
