IISc Bangalore opens 11 contract instructor and project scientist posts

The Indian Institute of Science (IISc) in Bangalore issued an official notice inviting applications for 11 contract positions under its undergraduate programme. The vacancies include one instructor in Physics, two in Humanities, two in Mathematics, two in Aerospace Engineering, two in Mechanics and Computing, and one each for Project Scientist‑I in Engineering/Electronics and Computer Science.

Candidates must hold a PhD in a relevant discipline, be between 35 and 38 years old (with age relaxations for reserved categories), and will be selected through shortlisting, interview, and document verification. Salaries range from ₹58,000 to ₹1,02,000 per month, with additional benefits. Appointments are initially for one year, renewable annually up to a maximum of five years, based on institutional needs and performance. The online application window closes on 10 July 2026.
