IIT (BHU) Varanasi and Bergische Universität Wuppertal sign academic MoU

The Indian Institute of Technology (BHU) Varanasi has signed an institute-level Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Germany's Bergische Universität Wuppertal (BUW) to expand their academic partnership. Previously, the collaboration was limited to the respective Departments of Civil Engineering, but it has now been broadened to an institute-wide framework.

Facilitated by the Scheme for Promotion of Academic and Research Collaboration (SPARC), the agreement will support interdisciplinary research, faculty and student exchanges, and joint academic activities across multiple departments. The MoU was exchanged by Prof. Amit Patra, Director of IIT (BHU) Varanasi, during the SPARC-GIANT International Workshop on ‘Pavement Scanning Technologies’.

The partnership aims to strengthen collaborative work in areas such as sustainable infrastructure and advanced highway assessment technologies, including Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) and Traffic Speed Deflectometer (TSD) investigations.
