IIT Bhubaneswar and IIT-ISM Dhanbad partner for semiconductor research

IIT Bhubaneswar and IIT (Indian School of Mines) Dhanbad have entered into a five-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance research and academic exchange. The partnership, signed by Directors Prof. Shreepad Karmalkar and Prof. Sukumar Mishra, focuses initially on semiconductor technology and basic sciences.

The collaboration includes joint research programs, collaborative projects, and reciprocal supervision for doctoral scholars. The institutions plan to seek external research funding together and facilitate faculty interaction through visiting and adjunct positions. Additionally, students will have access to exchange opportunities, including seminars and observerships.

Under the agreement, the institutes will share experimental resources and explore the joint use of large-scale research facilities. Intellectual property resulting from these collaborative activities will generally be jointly owned by both institutions.
