IIT Delhi and KPMP 2040 partner for Arunachal Pradesh development

IIT Delhi and the Keyi Panyor Mission Plan (KPMP) 2040 Initiative have signed a Letter of Intent to establish a Centre of Excellence at the IIT Delhi campus. This partnership aims to support the long-term sustainable development of Keyi Panyor, a new district in Arunachal Pradesh, by combining community-based planning and indigenous knowledge with multidisciplinary research in engineering, science, and public policy.

Yachuli MLA Toko Tatung and IIT Delhi Dean Prof. Jayant Jain signed the agreement, which focuses on creating a ‘Biohappy District’ model. This model seeks to improve livelihoods and public services while protecting biodiversity, water sources, and forests. Specific areas for technical cooperation include agroecology, waste management, renewable energy, and terrain-suited rural technologies.

Separately, the Andhra Pradesh government, in collaboration with PanIIT Alumni India, will host the PanIIT Andhra Pradesh Summit 2026 in Vijayawada on October 2 and 3. The summit is expected to attract over 50 CEOs, 100 unicorn founders, and numerous investors. The event aims to position the state as a deep tech hub, focusing on sectors such as AI, semiconductors, quantum computing, green hydrogen, and space manufacturing.
