IIT Hyderabad starts three‑month nuclear technology training programme

IIT Hyderabad announced on June 23 the launch of a three‑month residential Nuclear Technology Orientation Programme, to begin on August 3 at the IITH campus. In partnership with Crimson Energy Experts Pvt Ltd, the programme is designed to equip early‑ and mid‑career engineers, managers and power‑sector personnel with comprehensive knowledge of nuclear power technologies, covering reactor physics, engineering, safety, waste management, instrumentation, thermal hydraulics, quality assurance, emergency preparedness and emerging areas such as Small Modular Reactors.

The curriculum combines academic lectures from IIT Hyderabad faculty with practical insights from scientists and engineers of the Department of Atomic Energy. IITH Director Prof B S Murty said, “through this programme, IITH aims to contribute to capacity building by bringing together academic expertise and industry experience to develop a highly skilled workforce for strategic sectors.” The initiative supports India’s expanding nuclear energy capacity and its broader clean‑energy transition goals.
