IIT JAM 2027 registration opens September 12

Registration for the Joint Admission Test for Masters (JAM) 2027 is scheduled to open on September 12, 2026, via the JOAPS portal. The application window will remain open until October 12, 2026.

Organized by IIT Kharagpur, the examination will be conducted as a Computer-Based Test (CBT) on February 14, 2027. The exam covers seven papers: Biotechnology, Chemistry, Economics, Geology, Mathematics, Mathematical Statistics, and Physics. Candidates may choose to take one or two test papers.

JAM scores are used for admission to various postgraduate programs, including MSc, MS (Research), and Integrated PhD programs, across approximately 23 IITs. Additionally, scores are utilized by other institutions such as IISc, NITs, and CFTIs, providing access to thousands of postgraduate seats. Eligibility is open to candidates who have completed an undergraduate degree or are in their final year of qualifying studies in 2027.
