IIT Madras and CAMS expand FinTech Innovation Lab partnership
IIT Madras and Computer Age Management Services (CAMS) have signed a new Memorandum of Understanding to expand their collaboration through the CAMS IIT Madras FinTech Innovation Lab (CIFIL). Originally established in 2022 as part of CAMS’ CSR initiatives, the partnership aims to strengthen India’s digital financial ecosystem by bridging industry expertise with academic research.
The next phase of the lab will focus on several emerging technological areas, including artificial intelligence in financial services, blockchain and tokenization, digital payments, cybersecurity, and Regulatory Technology (RegTech). Other priority sectors include WealthTech, InsurTech, digital lending, data analytics, and financial inclusion.
Beyond research, the expanded initiative will work toward developing intellectual property, facilitating technology transfer, and supporting the commercialization of research-led solutions. The collaboration will also provide IIT Madras students with opportunities for industry-linked research projects, internships, hackathons, and startup mentoring programs.
