IITPSA to host conference on AI impact on ICT jobs
The Institute of Information Technology Professionals South Africa (IITPSA) will hold its inaugural Workforce Intelligence Conference in Johannesburg on 30 October. The event aims to address critical ICT skills gaps and the evolving landscape of the workforce in the era of artificial intelligence.
A key component of the conference will be the release of the 2026 IITPSA ICT Skills Survey. For the first time, this survey evaluates how AI influences the supply and demand of skills, how practitioners view the technology, and whether AI is expected to reduce job availability within the ICT sector.
Speakers, including Lehlohonolo Mokenela of Africa Analysis and Pragashani Reddy of Digital Solutions Group, will discuss the implications for South Africa’s skills pipeline and how generative and agentic AI may reshape future careers and necessary professional competencies.
