Ijaw Youth Council rejects revocation of pipeline surveillance contracts

The Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) Central Zone has rejected calls to revoke pipeline surveillance contracts currently held by Seven Oceans Oil and Gas Ltd., Kojo Sam Logistics Ltd., and Labrador Security Outfit.

In a statement signed by Information Officer Boro Francis, the Council argued that such a move could undermine the economic interests of the Ijaw people and disrupt the security of national infrastructure. The IYC emphasized that pipeline surveillance is essential for preventing oil theft and vandalism while safeguarding government revenue. The Council urged the federal government to maintain the existing arrangements, provided they meet established regulatory and security requirements.
