IJCPM hosts Conexão Juventudes to promote youth leadership

The Instituto João Carlos Paes Mendonça de Compromisso Social (IJCPM) is hosting the ‘Conexão Juventudes’ event in Recife. The initiative aims to celebrate youth leadership within the Pina and Brasília Teimosa communities through a week of culture, art, and learning.

Under the theme ‘Identity: between roots and collective futures,’ the program includes panels, film screenings, community interventions, and races. Participants include youth from Recife, Salvador, Aracaju, and Fortaleza. The event focuses on dimensions of territory, equity, culture, and ancestry to promote self-esteem and mental health while addressing issues of gender, race, and class. It is estimated that over 5,200 people will participate in the various initiatives.
