IJM Corp vows traffic‑flow safeguards for NPE 2 extension

IJM Corporation Berhad, led by CEO and Managing Director Datuk Lee Chun Fai, said it will implement traffic‑management measures to minimise disruption for motorists during construction of the New Pantai Expressway (NPE) 2 extension. "We will try our utmost to reduce the inconvenience because the project will ultimately bring great benefit to the public," Lee said after the IJM Allianz Duo Highway Challenge 2026 event.

The RM1.7 billion project adds a 6.4‑km main carriageway and a total 15‑km alignment linking the Pantai Dalam toll plaza to the Jalan Istana junction in Kuala Lumpur. Physical progress is about nine percent, with completion targeted for October 2029. When finished, the extension is expected to cut travel time between Pantai Dalam and the city centre by at least 15 minutes.
