IKEA announces seven new U.S. store locations through 2027
IKEA has announced plans to open seven new locations across the United States by the winter of 2027. Two of these new stores will be located in New York.
In Buffalo, a full-size, traditional large-format IKEA store is expected to open in the winter of 2027. In New York City, a smaller ‘Plan and Order’ format store is scheduled to open in Manhattan’s SoHo neighborhood in late fall 2026. This smaller format focuses on design services for complex home projects like kitchens and bathrooms in urban areas where large warehouses are impractical.
Other planned U.S. locations include Gurnee, Illinois (fall 2026), Tulsa, Oklahoma (fall 2026), Madison, Wisconsin (late fall 2026), Sarasota, Florida (winter 2026), and Fort Collins, Colorado (winter 2027). The expansion is supported by investments from the parent company, Ingka Group.
