Ikea Switzerland permits customers to use stores as co-working spaces

Ikea Switzerland has clarified its policies regarding customers using its locations as remote workspaces. Following a viral TikTok video describing the retailer as an ‘underrated co-working space’, the company confirmed that customers are permitted to work on laptops within its restaurants.

According to the company, there is no fixed time limit for how long customers may stay, and some locations even provide dedicated areas with charging stations. Additionally, customers are allowed to test desks within the showroom areas for work, provided they do not obstruct other shoppers. The debate was sparked by social media users highlighting the availability of Wi-Fi, power outlets, and affordable food as advantages for remote workers.
