IKEA to invest 130 million euros in Romania
IKEA Romania has announced an investment plan totaling approximately 130 million euros over the next three years. This includes 125 million euros dedicated to expansion and development, plus 4.4 million euros allocated for price reductions during the 2027 fiscal year.
Of the expansion budget, roughly 55 million euros will be used to grow the retail network by opening 10 new customer meeting points. These will be located in Bucharest and existing markets such as Cluj-Napoca, Iași, and Sibiu, as well as new cities including Craiova, Pitești, and Galați. The company is also exploring smaller-format locations through partnerships with retailers and shopping centers.
The remaining 70 million euros will focus on strengthening current operations. This includes over 60 million euros for the modernization of the IKEA Băneasa store in Bucharest, alongside investments in automation, technology, and sustainability projects.
