IKEA to open first Sarawak store in Kuching on Nov 27

IKEA Malaysia will open its first store in Sarawak on November 27, 2026, located at Pines Mall in Batu Kawa, Kuching. This location marks the retailer’s first small-format store in Malaysia.

According to IKEA Malaysia Country Retail Director Takeshi Murai, the new outlet will offer approximately 5,000 home furnishing products. While the store is more compact than larger flagship locations, it will provide home planning services, self-collection, and home delivery options.

In a significant pricing announcement, the company pledged that customers in Sarawak will not face an additional premium; products and services will be priced the same as those in Peninsular Malaysia. To celebrate the launch, the store plans to host weekend activities from November 27 to 29.
