IKEA to open new Plan and Order Point store in Aberdeen

IKEA is scheduled to open a new Plan and Order Point store in Aberdeen’s Union Square on Wednesday, 14 October, at 10am. This smaller-format city centre location is designed to provide specialized planning services for kitchens, bedrooms, and living room storage.

Customers can access design consultations through walk-ins or online appointments. While the store focuses on bespoke planning, it will also stock approximately 600 home furnishing accessories for immediate purchase, including popular items such as BILLY bookcases, KALLAX shelving units, ALEX drawer units, and LACK side tables. The facility will include a dedicated area for online order collections and returns.

This opening follows the closure of IKEA’s previous Aberdeen Order and Collection Point in Wellington Square on 1 March. The move reflects the retailer’s shift toward a planning-led format as part of a broader UK expansion strategy to bring the brand closer to urban residential and social hubs.
