Iker Lecuona to replace Fermin Aldeguer at Australian MotoGP
Gresini Racing has confirmed that Iker Lecuona will replace Fermin Aldeguer at the upcoming MotoGP Australian Grand Prix at Phillip Island.
Aldeguer is sidelined due to a fractured first metacarpal in his hand, an injury sustained during a crash at the Indonesian Grand Prix. Following a successful surgical procedure, Aldeguer is working toward a recovery that would allow him to return for the Malaysian Grand Prix in approximately two weeks.
This marks Lecuona’s third appearance in the premier class this season. He previously filled in for Alex Marquez at the Hungarian Grand Prix and for Aldeguer at Silverstone. Lecuona arrives in Australia following the conclusion of the WorldSBK season, where he finished as the runner-up in the championship.
