Iki retail chain warns of Facebook scams targeting customers
The Lithuanian retail chain Iki has issued a warning regarding fraudulent social media campaigns on Facebook. Scammers are using the company’s name, logo, and visual elements to promote fake contests and giveaways designed to steal personal and banking information.
These fraudulent posts often mimic legitimate marketing, such as the company’s current 35th-anniversary celebrations, to appear authentic. Victims are typically directed to click links that lead to deceptive websites. Once there, they are prompted to fill out forms or pay a supposed ‘delivery fee’ to claim a prize, which results in the theft of credit card details and personal data.
Iki emphasizes that official contests are only conducted through its official website, mobile app, and verified social media channels. The company stresses that it will never request bank card details or payment to claim a prize.
