Ikiga Karate Club wins international tournament in Brazil

Members of the Ikiga Karate Club from Arica, Chile, secured top positions at an international tournament held in Sao Paulo, Brazil. The club achieved success in two primary categories: self-defense and Kata.

In the self-defense category, the winning team included Carolina Cárdenas, Leonardo Copaja, Marcos Ossandón, and Catalina Cabrera. In the Kata category, first place was taken by Paola Ramos, Danisa Urrutia, and Yolanda Ramos.

Club president Catalina Cabrera credited the success to support from the Arica Municipal Council, noting that this assistance was vital for their participation. The club is now beginning preparations for the Pan American Karate Championship scheduled to take place in La Serena in November 2026.
