Troy Pantouw, IKN Spokesperson, Dies at 58 in Indonesia
Troy Harold Yohanes Pantouw, the spokesperson and senior communications official of Indonesia’s capital development authority (Otorita Ibu Kota Nusantara, IKN), died on 25 July 2026 at age 58. He was found unresponsive in his residence at Rusun ASN 3 Tower 6, Kota Nusantara, and was taken to Hermina IKN Hospital where doctors confirmed his death at 14:25 WITA, citing natural causes.
Pantouw had been scheduled to travel to Balikpapan that morning to lead a church service. After his personal driver could not reach him, staff forced open the locked door and discovered him on the bed. Family members said he had spoken with them the night before, mentioning only a mild flu and his long‑standing hypertension, which he managed with medication.
The IKN authority announced his passing, praising his three‑decade career that spanned journalism, corporate communications at firms such as Danone, Standard Chartered and Nissan, and his pivotal role in public outreach for the new capital project. A state funeral will be held at Tanah Kusir Public Cemetery in Jakarta, with IKN head Basuki Hadimuljono and secretary Bimo Adi Nursanthyasto among the officials attending.
