iKON Awards announces nominees for 4th edition

The nominees for the 4th edition of the iKON Awards have been announced, featuring 121 films competing across 26 categories. The selection includes 24 nominations from various regions across Africa.

Founder Humphrey Nabimanya emphasized the necessity of industry cooperation during the unveiling, stating, “Collaboration is essential to building a strong film industry because no single filmmaker can tell Africa’s stories alone.”

The awards ceremony is scheduled to take place on 12 December 2026, at the Serena Hotel in Kampala. This year’s theme, “Beyond Border,” focuses on fostering cross-border partnerships within the film industry.
