Ikorodu City tops NPFL table following victory

In the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), Ikorodu City moved to the top of the table following a 3-1 comeback victory against Ranchers Bees. After falling behind in the seventh minute, Ikorodu City equalized through Umar Dan’Azumi before Abayomi Ayodeji and Farouk Salami secured the win.

Other notable NPFL results include Rivers United defeating Plateau United 2-0, and Kwara United securing a 2-2 draw against Kano Pillars after recovering from a two-goal deficit. Bendel Insurance also achieved a comeback win, defeating Warri Wolves 2-1, while Niger Tornadoes beat Enyimba 2-1.

In grassroots football, Ijapo Ages Stars secured a 4-0 victory against Royal Goldwin Academy in the opening match of the 2026 Abegunde-Tinubu Champions League. Femi Kolawole scored a hat-trick during the match held at the Ondo State Sports Complex. The tournament aims to identify and nurture football talent across all 18 Local Government Areas of Ondo State.
