The Italian television series ‘Il giovane Montalbano’, starring Michele Riondino, is approaching the end of its second season. The penultimate episode, titled ‘Il ladro onesto’, is scheduled to air on Rai 1 and will also be available for streaming on RaiPlay.

The episode follows Commissioner Salvo Montalbano as he investigates two seemingly unrelated cases in Vigata. The first involves the disappearance of a bar worker, Pamela Bianchi, whose body is later found near an elevated railway; an autopsy reveals she was strangled. The second plotline involves a man recently released from prison who is involved in small thefts but becomes an unexpected ally to Montalbano during the murder investigation.

Recent viewership data shows the series remains highly competitive, with a recent repeat episode drawing 2.416 million viewers and a 16.7% share, closely rivaling the reality program ‘Temptation Island’.
