Il Malloppo crime comedy premieres in Italian theaters

The crime comedy “Il Malloppo”, directed by Volfango De Biasi, premiered in Italian theaters on September 3. Distributed by Vision Distribution, the film features a cast including Diego Abatantuono, Michele Forest (Mago Forest), and Max Angioni.

The plot follows Michele Ragusa, an unsuccessful private investigator, and his unpaid intern Alex, as they investigate a mystery involving a missing cache of gold ingots from the 1980s. The investigation is triggered when Diego Viani, an ex-robber turned tavern owner, is accused by a former accomplice of stealing the loot. Following the murder of the accomplice, Diego becomes a suspect, prompting the unlikely duo to uncover buried secrets and old criminal connections.

Much of the film was shot on location in Ferrara, utilizing various landmarks within the city's historic center to serve as the backdrop for the comedic mystery.
