Il Pollaio Sociale celebrates ten years of social inclusion

Il Pollaio Sociale, an innovative social-occupational project in Toscanella di Dozza, is celebrating its tenth anniversary. Managed by the Seacoop social cooperative at the ‘La Tartaruga’ center, the project allows individuals with disabilities to care for 100 laying hens.

Participants can adopt a hen and receive eggs in return. The initiative is designed to promote social inclusion, occupational activity, and animal welfare. According to Seacoop president Francesca Assente, the project has demonstrated that caring for animals can generate well-being, autonomy, and significant social relationships for those involved.
