Ilan Kebbal sought transfer to Olympique de Marseille

Ilan Kebbal, the 28-year-old attacking midfielder for Paris FC, reportedly expressed a strong desire to join Olympique de Marseille during the recent summer transfer window. A Marseille native, Kebbal frequently communicated his “envie folle” (crazy desire) to play for his hometown club to those close to him.

While Olympique de Marseille showed interest and held discussions between sporting director Grégory Lorenzi and the Algerian international's agents, a transfer did not materialize. The primary obstacle was the valuation set by Paris FC, which requested approximately 10 million euros for the player, who is under contract until 2028. Due to financial constraints and the need to sell players, Marseille was unable to submit a concrete offer before the window closed.

Kebbal has continued his strong form with Paris FC, recently scoring a notable goal against RC Strasbourg. Despite the failed move, his profile remains highly regarded in Ligue 1.
