Ilana Trombka launches book on women's leadership

Ilana Trombka, the Director-General of the Brazilian Senate, is launching her new book, ‘Mulher: a liderança em 10 lições’ (Woman: leadership in 10 lessons), in Brasília. The work draws on her decade of experience in her leadership role to provide guidance for women seeking to occupy and transform decision-making spaces.

The book is structured into three distinct parts: a conceptual introduction regarding gender inequality, ten lessons derived from Trombka’s personal professional experiences, and a section titled ‘Agora só falta você’ (Now it is just up to you). This final section is intended for all women, offering ways to intervene in daily life and facilitate women’s movement in public spaces.

Trombka emphasizes that the book aims to help women understand that many professional obstacles are structural rather than individual failings. She notes that while women can reach leadership positions, they often face greater challenges and invisible barriers regarding recognition, pay, and access to professional networks.
