Ildikó Enyedi film 'Silent Friend' screened in Badajoz

The Filmoteca de Extremadura is hosting a screening of 'Silent Friend' (El amigo silencioso), the latest film by Hungarian director Ildikó Enyedi, in Badajoz. The event takes place at the Centro Joven.

Released in 2025, the film features a cast including Tony Leung Chiu-Wai, Luna Wedler, Léa Seydoux, and Enzo Brumm. The narrative centers on a ginkgo tree in a German university botanical garden, weaving together three historical timelines: 2020, involving a Hong Kong neuroscientist; 1972, focusing on a student; and 1908, following a female student discovering plant patterns through photography.

The film has received international recognition, including two awards and three nominations at the Venice Film Festival in 2025, as well as the Silver Espiga at the Seminci festival in Valladolid.
