Ildong Pharmaceutical and Pfizer Korea partner on migraine drug Nurtec ODT

Ildong Pharmaceutical and Pfizer Korea have signed an agreement for the domestic distribution and joint marketing of Nurtec ODT (rimegepant), a new migraine medication. Under the contract, Ildong Pharmaceutical will manage domestic distribution, and both companies will begin joint promotional activities targeting medical professionals this month.

Nurtec ODT is a CGRP (Calcitonin Gene-Related Peptide) receptor antagonist indicated for the acute treatment of migraine with or without aura in adults, as well as the prevention of episodic migraine. Clinical studies indicate that the medication provides significant pain relief within one hour of administration, with effects lasting up to 48 hours. In prevention trials, patients using the drug every other day saw a reduction in monthly migraine days (MMDs) by an average of 4.3 days compared to the placebo group. Long-term studies showed a reduction of 6.2 days maintained through the 16-month mark.
