Ilfov County launches new mosquito‑control treatments Aug 3‑5

The Ilfov County Council announced the continuation of the "Ilfov fără țânțari" program with a new adult‑mosquito treatment campaign scheduled for 3–5 August 2026. Operations will take place at night between 22:00 and 05:00 on public areas, including green spaces within towns, using the STING insecticide (permethrin‑based) approved by the National Commission for Biocidal Products.

Residents are advised to avoid treated zones, keep windows closed during application, and follow first‑aid instructions if contact occurs. Authorities warned that the product is toxic to bees, fish and other aquatic organisms, and beekeepers have been asked to take protective measures. If adverse weather prevents spraying, the operation will be rescheduled.
