Ilha parish to host 22nd edition of Emigrant Day

The Ilha parish is hosting the 22nd edition of Emigrant Day, titled ‘Sabores e Saberes Tradicionais 2026’, on August 23. The event is organized by the Casa do Povo da Ilha with support from various regional and municipal entities.

The program includes a mass celebrated by parish priest João Carlos Homem de Gouveia, followed by a protocol session featuring the regional director of Citizenship and Social Affairs. Activities will include the presentation of awards for a wooden car race and a domino tournament, alongside artistic cultural performances.
