Ilhabela International Sailing Week 2026 crowns champions in Super 40 and team trophy
The 53rd Semana Internacional de Vela de Ilhabela (Ilhabela International Sailing Week) concluded on 1 August 2026 after a week of racing in the Canal de São Sebastião. The event, organized by the Yacht Club of Ilhabela, featured 127 boats and more than 1,000 sailors from Brazil, Argentina and Uruguay.
In the Super 40 class, the boat Onda (ICs) commanded by Eduardo Souza Ramos secured the championship with 11 points, while Phytoervas 4Z, led by Marcelo Bellotti, finished as runner‑up after two victories and a second place. The traditional Team Trophy was won by Imperador Pirata no Vento Azul, which earned the Pen Duick II trophy.
Other class winners included Crioula 52 (VDS) of Eduardo Plass in the ORC class, Plâncton in BRA‑RGS, Blue Wind in BRA‑RGS Cruiser, Madrugada in the Classics, Relaxa Building in C30 and Ciribaí in HPE25. Olympic and world‑class sailors such as Robert Scheidt, Lars Grael, Samuel Albrecht and others took part, highlighting the competition’s status as the premier ocean‑sailing event in Latin America.
