Phytoervas targets fourth Super40 title at Ilhabela Sailing Week

The Phytoervas 4Z team entered the 53rd Semana Internacional de Vela de Ilhabela, held from July 24 to August 1, seeking a fourth consecutive championship in the Super 40 class and defending the overall vice‑championship secured at the previous edition. The crew, led by Marcelo Bellotti and Fábio Bruggioni and co‑sponsored by Galapagos Capital and Raff Infra, will compete in a series of offshore races, starting with the traditional Regata Alcatrazes on July 26, organized by the Brazilian Navy.

In parallel, the week featured the Vela do Amanhã children’s regatta on July 25, organized by the Yacht Club of Ilhabela and Mauro Dottori. About 200 children from 11 schools and sailing projects across the region boarded more than 30 boats, gaining firsthand experience of a competitive ocean race and learning teamwork, strategic planning and resilience. The event, highlighted by Comodoro Paulo Palermo, aims to promote sailing values and inspire the next generation of athletes.

Both the elite competition and the youth program underscore Ilhabela’s role as a focal point for Brazilian sailing, drawing top crews and community participation alike.
