Azerbaijan updates on security forum, metro transit, and renewable energy

President Ilham Aliyev addressed participants of the IV Baku Security Forum, emphasizing the importance of international cooperation in addressing new challenges in the global security architecture and combating terrorism. He noted that increasing geopolitical competition and regional conflicts necessitate the strengthening of national security architectures and international stability.

In urban developments, Baku Metro has implemented free entry at the Khocasən and Avtovağzal stations to reduce traffic congestion around the 20 Yanvar station. This initiative aims to provide alternative routes for passengers traveling from Sumqayıt, Khırdalan, and Masazır, effectively redistributing passenger loads across the metro lines.

Regarding the energy sector, the State Agency on Renewable Energy Sources highlighted the growing demand for professional personnel as renewable energy projects expand in Azerbaijan. The launch of the ‘Boota Green Talent Academy’ at the Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University aims to train a new generation of specialists equipped with technical, financial, and analytical skills to support the country’s green energy transition.
