Ilhéus to host launch of free book collection featuring Paloma Jorge Amado

The first edition of the ‘Livro de Graça na Praça’ collection will be launched in Ilhéus on Saturday, August 15. The event, held at Praça Dom Eduardo in the Historic Center, will feature the free distribution of 800 copies of the anthology.

The collection includes texts from 46 authors from southern Bahia and other regions, including Paloma Jorge Amado, Mabel Velloso, Antônio Ruffino Netto, Suzana Varjão, Fernando Caldas, and Euzner Teles. The launch is part of the ‘Agosto de Jorge Amado’ program, organized by the Ilhéus Secretariat of Culture.

In addition to the book launch, the event will feature musical performances by Luiz Flávio do Prado Ribeiro, Herval Lemos, Fernando Caldas, and Cláudio Vieira. Organizers are currently conducting a crowdfunding campaign to cover remaining expenses.
