Şişli: Market vendor's van falls into apartment shaft

A panel van driven by a market vendor fell into an apartment shaft in the Şişli district of Istanbul. The incident occurred on Kestanelik Street in the Halide Edip Adıvar neighborhood during the evening while the driver was attempting to collect market stalls.

The driver, identified as Aydın A., lost control of the vehicle while maneuvering near the stalls. Following the accident, emergency services including fire, medical, police, and municipal teams were dispatched to the scene. The driver sustained only minor injuries and was taken to the hospital for observation after receiving initial medical attention.

Local residents expressed concerns regarding the safety of the market location, noting that the steep slope of the street poses risks to pedestrians and vehicles. Municipal teams cleared the spilled goods from the street, and the vehicle was subsequently removed from the shaft by a tow truck.
