Çiğli Municipality faces nepotism and unpaid wage allegations
Çiğli Municipality in İzmir is facing allegations of widespread nepotism and severe financial mismanagement. Reports indicate that several municipal employees and council members from both the CHP and Yeni Parti have reportedly hired close relatives for various positions.
Specifically, an advisor to Mayor Onur Emrah Yıldız, İsmail Yiğitoğlu, is accused of hiring his brother as a personal driver and bringing his sister-in-law from Elazığ to work in a library unit. Additionally, Yeni Parti council member Şükrü Erol reportedly appointed his daughter as a contract civil servant.
