Çiğli Municipality launches health screenings and first aid training

Çiğli Municipality in İzmir is conducting various public health initiatives to improve community access to medical services and emergency preparedness.

In a recent health screening held at Kasaplar Square, municipal health teams measured the blood pressure and blood sugar levels of approximately 300 citizens. Participants were issued health cards to track their medical values and were advised to consult specialists if they encountered risky results. The municipality also provided information regarding its broader services, including ambulance transport, disability services, and home health care.

Additionally, the municipality organized a first aid seminar at the Fakir Baykurt Hall to increase emergency response awareness. Led by instructor Çağatay Delen, the training provided practical demonstrations on life-saving techniques such as the Heimlich maneuver and CPR for infants, children, and adults. The seminar also emphasized the dangers of common misconceptions, such as applying yogurt to burns or tilting the head back during nosebleeds.
