Şişli residents protest illegal gambling ads on school walls

Residents in the Şişli district of Istanbul have expressed outrage over illegal gambling and virtual betting advertisements written on walls surrounding Nilüfer Hatun Primary and Middle Schools. The advertisements, which include various texts and visuals, are located directly on school walls and along routes frequently used by students.

Similar markings were also observed near the Şişli District Directorate of National Education building. Local residents have called for the immediate removal of these advertisements, citing concerns that such content could lead to addiction and serious social and economic consequences for children and youth. Some community members noted that these markings have been present for several years, prompting calls for municipal intervention to clean the area and protect students from exposure to illegal betting promotions.
