Ilia: Six newborn puppies rescued from recycling bin

Six newborn puppies were rescued after being found alive inside a plastic bag discarded in a recycling bin in the Vrana area of Ilia, Greece. An unidentified individual reportedly took the puppies from their stray mother and placed them in the bin, an act described as animal abuse.

A volunteer from Vartholomio discovered the puppies after being alerted to the situation. Upon inspecting the bin, she found the six puppies alive and immediately notified the police to record the incident, which is being investigated as a felony.

Following the rescue, the puppies' mother, a stray dog, was seen attempting to retrieve her offspring. She was observed picking up one of the puppies in her mouth to protect it. The puppies have been moved to a safe environment and are temporarily being hosted by a local volunteer.
