Iliana Yotova to assess national security risks before calling Council

Bulgarian President Iliana Yotova stated that a decision regarding the convening of the National Security Council will be made following an analysis of current national security risks. She emphasized the need for in-depth information to allow the Council to propose specific measures to other institutions.

Regarding the conflict in Ukraine, Yotova advocated for Bulgaria to be an active participant in developing a European proposal for peace. She asserted that there is no military solution to the war and that diplomatic channels must be opened, stressing the importance of realistic proposals and learning from failed previous agreements.
