Ilias Bretos dives to the Dystos shipwreck in Kyma

Singer Ilias Bretos completed a childhood dream by diving to the shipwreck of the cargo ship ‘Dystos’ near his hometown of Kyma. The dive reached a depth of 38 meters, where Bretos captured rare underwater footage.

The ‘Dystos’ sank in December 1996 under extreme weather conditions while transporting cement. The tragedy resulted in the deaths of 20 people, with only one survivor. Bretos shared the footage on Instagram, describing the experience as a profound encounter with the maritime history of his home region.
