Alliance of Greeks party announced by Ilias Kasidiaris

Ilias Kasidiaris has announced the formation of a new political party named 'Alliance of Greeks'. The party's statutes have reportedly been submitted to the Prosecutor of the Supreme Court, and Kasidiaris described the movement as 'national and democratic'. While Kasidiaris has not yet confirmed his own candidacy for the upcoming elections, he noted that the party already possesses an active parliamentary group.

This group includes three independent MPs who previously belonged to the 'Spartans' party: Giannis Dimitrokallis, Dionysios Valtogiannis, and Giorgos Manousos. During a session in the Hellenic Parliament, Giorgos Manousos declared that although he remains formally independent, he effectively represents the 'Alliance of Greeks' and that his positions align with the party's program.

Manousos's declaration triggered intense backlash from opposition parties. Aleksandros Kazamias of Pleksi Eleftherias argued that such declarations in Parliament serve to legitimize the criminal organization Golden Dawn. Similarly, Christos Katsotis, spokesperson for the Communist Party of Greece (KKE), stated that fascists have no place in Greek society. The opposition characterized the new formation as a 'showcase party' for Kasidiaris.
