Ilias Kostis returns to football with CD Castellón

Greek defender Ilias Kostis has made his debut for CD Castellón following a year-long absence due to a serious injury sustained during a friendly match with Atlético de Madrid. Kostis appeared as a second-half substitute in a match against Las Palmas, replacing Alberto Jiménez.

During a press conference, Kostis discussed the mental challenges of being sidelined for a year and expressed gratitude to the club's medical staff and the organization for their trust in signing him while he was injured. He described the club's current direction as an exciting project with clear objectives.

Looking ahead to the upcoming match against Real Sporting de Gijón at Estadio Castalia, Kostis noted the strong form of the Asturian side and stated he is prepared to contribute whether starting or coming off the bench.
