Ilias Theodoropoulos provides testimony in Mazonakis case

In the ongoing investigation regarding the death of Giorgos Mazonakis, physician Ilias Theodoropoulos has provided a lengthy testimony to investigators. During his interrogation, Theodoropoulos sought to distance himself from the medical care provided to the deceased, asserting that Mazonakis was exclusively a patient of his wife. He emphasized the professional autonomy maintained between his practice and his wife’s, stating they respect each other’s medical boundaries.

Regarding medical equipment found at the scene, Theodoropoulos testified that the machines were the exclusive property of his wife, purchased as part of a holistic approach. He maintained his belief that the equipment was legal.

In response to the widespread media coverage of these testimonies, Theodoropoulos’s legal team, represented by Nikos and Tellos Agapinos, has issued a formal statement condemning the leak of sensitive case files. While the defense does not attribute the leak to official judicial institutions, they have called for an immediate investigation into the source of the unauthorized disclosure of defendant statements to the mass media, demanding that those responsible be identified and sanctioned.
