Ilioupoli students honor deceased principal with symbolic tribute

Students at the 2nd Gymnasium of Ilioupoli held a moving tribute to honor their principal, Vasiliki Maria Tzouveli, following her sudden passing. To express their grief, students formed a human chain in the school courtyard and used their school bags to spell out the message ‘Kalo Paradiso’ (May you have a good paradise).

Tzouveli, a 50-year-old educator, passed away after a brief hospitalization. Reports indicate her death followed an incident on September 22 outside the school, which was linked to a lightning strike.

During her three-year tenure, Tzouveli was credited with transforming the school's culture by fostering empathy, cooperation, and inclusivity. The school community, including teachers, parents, and students, described her as a supportive figure who went beyond her professional duties to build strong bonds with families and the local community.
