Ilir Panda becomes new President of Albania's Supreme Court

Sokol Sadushi has officially handed over the presidency of the Supreme Court to Ilir Panda during a ceremony held in Tirana. The transition marks the end of Sadushi’s six-year term, a period characterized by efforts to reduce case backlogs, improve decision quality, and increase public transparency.

Sadushi confirmed he will remain with the institution as a judge, stating, “For me, the duty of chairman ends today, while the responsibility as a judge of this court continues.”

In his inaugural address, Ilir Panda described his new role as a high commitment to the Constitution and the citizens. He emphasized that public trust is built through “the quality of decision-making, clear and consistent judicial reasoning, efficient administration of processes, and institutional accountability.”
